Dr Maeve Byrne offers the following cosmetic treatments at The Byrne Family Practice:
1. Anti wrinkle injections
2. Profhilo
Maeve is a trained medical doctor and GP, who is qualified and experienced in providing anti wrinkle injections and Profhilo. Maeve also has a diploma in dermatology from UCD. (Please note that Maeve is not a consultant dermatologist.)
You do not need to be a patient of The Byrne Family Practice in order to avail of this service.

You can book an initial consultation with Maeve where you will have an opportunity to discuss your treatment goals. You will not be pressurised into getting any treatment at this initial consultation. You will have the chance to digest this information and come back at a later date for treatment should you wish. However, should you want to proceed and receive treatments there and then, she can perform the treatment at this initial consultation. However, you cannot get Profhilo and anti wrinkle treatments at the same time. You must leave at least a two week interval between each treatment.
Anti Wrinkle Injections with Maeve
Anti wrinkle treatments are an effective way to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, thus restoring a more youthful appearance and improving a persons self confidence. The drug injected temporarily blocks the message going from our nervous system to our muscles, thus reducing the ability of those muscles to contract. This relaxation of muscular movements is what results in a reduction in wrinkles. Maeve aims for a natural appearance with her clients, however she will listen to what her clients wish to achieve and can adjust doses accordingly.

Maeve uses tiny needles, and there is only minimal discomfort during the procedure.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Initial Consultation €50 (redeemable against the cost of treatment)
One area €215
Two areas €300
Three areas €375
Additional areas starting at €70 per area (however please note that treatment of armpits for sweating costs €450 )
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST FOR?
Most people notice an effect within 4 to 14 days of their treatment. In general the effect will last between 3-4 months , however some people only need re-treatment every 6 months.

Profhilo with Maeve
Profhilo is an injectable treatment that improves skin quality by stimulating four different types of collagen and elastin production, using ultra-pure hyaluronic acid. It is designed to address skin laxity, improve hydration, and enhance overall skin texture, firmness and radiance. It provides a subtle yet noticeable improvement in skin quality, rather than adding volume like traditional fillers. Profhilo injections are strategically placed at key points on the face. It then spreads evenly through the skin, providing a more natural-looking result.
WHO IS PROFHILO SUITABLE FOR?
Profhilo is a suitable treatment for any person who has noticed and is bothered by signs of aging, such as skin laxity, fine lines, and dullness. It is an alternative to traditional fillers for those seeking a more natural-looking rejuvenation.

Initial Consultation €50 (redeemable against the cost of treatment)
Profhilo treatment €300
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST FOR?
Two treatments are recommended, spaced four weeks apart.
Benefits last for 6-9 months, and then clients will re-attend for two treatments, spaced four weeks apart.
Thus in total, a client will attend for Profhilo four times per year.
Some clients elect to attend once every 4 months for their treatments.
Maeve will discuss the different treatment schedules with you at your initial consultation.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Patients tend to find Profhilo injections more uncomfortable than anti wrinkle treatments. Maeve has prescription only numbing cream which she applies to the face prior to treating you. As with all injectables, there is a risk of bruising, however the majority of Maeve’s clients do not suffer any bruising with Profhilo. Immediately after treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and itching in the treated areas. Maeve will discuss all of this with you during your consultation.
